Billing Details and Invoices
Overview
Timerise uses the Stripe customer portal for all billing management. This article explains how to access your billing information, what you can manage there, and how invoices and VAT are handled.
How to access the billing portal
-
Open the Timerise app — Go to admin.timerise.io and sign in.
-
Navigate to Billing — Select the Billing section from the main left-hand navigation menu.
-
Open the portal — Click the Open my billing button. This will redirect you to your Stripe customer portal.
What you can do in the Stripe billing portal
The Stripe portal is where all billing actions take place. From here you can:
- View and download invoices — All past invoices are listed with their date, amount, and status. You can download each invoice as a PDF for your records or accounting purposes.
- Update billing details — Change the name, address, email, and other contact information that appears on your invoices.
- Update your payment method — Add or replace the credit or debit card used for subscription payments. Stripe supports most major card types.
- Review your subscription plan — See which plan you are currently on, the renewal date, and the billing cycle (monthly or annual).
- Cancel or change your subscription — Downgrade, upgrade, or cancel your plan directly from the portal.
Billing information shown on invoices
Invoices generated by Stripe will show:
- Your business name and billing address (as entered in the portal).
- The Timerise product and plan name.
- The billing period covered.
- The amount charged, including any applicable taxes.
To ensure your invoices are accurate for accounting purposes, make sure your billing address is correctly set in the portal before your next billing date.
VAT and tax handling
If your business is subject to VAT or other taxes, Stripe can include tax information on your invoices. To add a VAT number or tax ID:
- Open the billing portal (steps above).
- Look for the Tax information or Billing information section.
- Enter your VAT or tax registration number.
Once saved, your tax ID will appear on all subsequent invoices. Timerise does not manage tax rates directly — this is handled by Stripe based on your billing country and account setup.
How to update your payment method
- Open the billing portal.
- Go to the Payment methods section.
- Add a new card or update the existing one.
- Set the new card as the default payment method to ensure it is used for the next billing cycle.
If a payment fails (e.g., due to an expired card), Stripe will send a notification to your billing email. Update your payment method promptly to avoid service interruption.
Notes
- Only account owners and admins with billing permissions can access the Billing section in the Timerise app.
- Billing is managed at the account level and applies across all projects on your plan.
